Case Details

Suit Reason :

Plaintiff, a 52 year-old male, filed suit for damages after falling from a balcony. The railing on the balcony gave out, leading to plaintiff's fall.

Award Reason :

Plaintiff had a plate inserted into wrist, but it later had to be removed for the pain it caused. Plaintiff had to live with his parents because the fall rendered him fully unable to take care of himself, and his ability to perform normal daily tasks and duties was greatly reduced if not completely prohibited. Plaintiff awarded $200,000 for pain and suffering and $100,000 for loss of enjoyment of life. Plaintiff also awarded $153,000 for lost wages.
